Thank you for taking the time to investigate our website.
We are situated in beautiful Whitby, beside the Pauatahanui inlet, approximately 5km northwest of Porirua harbour.
Whitby Educare is a centre made up from many diverse cultures, both staff & tamariki. We are proud of this and regularly celebrate our diversity by holding whole centre activities.
We are licenced for 72 children from babies to 5 years. We operate from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We have a staff of 12 wonderful teachers.
All meals are prepared on site for the tamariki by our wonderful cook, often assisted by our enthusiastic tamariki with produce coming from our own vegetable gardens and chooks. A particular favourite is helping to prepare the kai for our regular hangi.
We have a wonderful natural playground called "The Wilderness" which is designed to let children climb, explore, and use their incredible imaginations. This area also includes a tree-house in the large Pohutukawa tree, and of course our delightful chooks. We make use of the local walkways exploring the community around us.
Whitby Educare is independently owned by Lorelle & Duncan, who also work full time at the centre. Lorelle is the office manager/Gecko room teacher & Duncan is the centre manager/Tuatara teacher.
Again, thanks for taking the time to visit our website, and feel free to come and visit us anytime.
